2023 in review

Dear Lord, what can I say about this year?

I made the decision near the beginning of the year to consider moving on from my job to something new. I had a couple of options, but ended up getting serious about a possible job in a completely different sate, which meant, among other things, temporarily closing down the blog. I got the job, made the move, and in there restarted the blog.

Major life-changing events aside, I also managed to paint 105 miniatures, the most in a decade. I also got in a decent-sized D&D campaign, even upgrading to a digital gaming table (although the television involved in the project broke and didn’t come with me to the new locale).

I also kicked around a couple of solo wargames, like Space Station Zero. I did not manage to get particularly far in SSZ or any other similar game.

I do not know if I have any big takeaways here. It was great running a long-term campaign (or least as long as things get these days). It was good getting into a routine of painting miniatures, and I am looking forward to getting back into that.

All told, it was a good year, largely eclipsed by the move, but a good year nonetheless. The plan for the next year? That’s a topic for another post.
