Back in the saddle: Frostgrave Cultists

Well, I was saying a few days ago that I was struggling to get back into the hobby groove and finally I told myself I was going to get over whatever was bogging me down and get back to it. So I made some good choices, got into the craft room, picked up a brush, and tackled these guys that have been sitting partially painted for weeks. Within two evenings, they were done and I feel great about it.

These are Frostgrave Cultists from Oathmark. I have painted up many of these before to be used as members of the cult of Bha’al in my Dungeons & Dragons campaign. I still had another sprue and decided to do something different. I always had a soft spot for the Chaos god Nurgle from the Warhammer lore, and so I painted them in a very Nurgle-esque color scheme. I think the gray is a little light blue for the rest of it–I was really hoping for a more earth-tone color instead.

So I’m hopefully back on a roll, and I’m closing in on my goal for the year. It is a little more to the wire than I thought I would be after a strong start last winter and spring, but I am still pleased o n it.
