Painting goal achieved!

For reasons I am saving for another post, I busted out a sprue of Mantic Shieldbreaker Dwarf Warriors and painted them up. For a change of pace, I didn’t use the speedpaint (or contrast paint) technique on them, but primed them black and painted them in a more traditional manner with layers, washes, etc. It was nice to switch styles and I think that the results turned out pretty well. They are certainly darker than speed-painted minis tend to be (mostly because I do not do the whole black/grey/white priming option, I suspect).

I’m pondering where these guys might show up: perhaps in a fantasy skirmish game or as part of the Clan of the First Exile’s warrior elite.

But more importantly, these four fine fellows got me to my annual goal of sixty miniatures, three months early!

So I have painted more this year than last (as well as several other years since the beginning of my keeping track this in this blog). My next goal point is 2022’s seventy miniatures. Thanks for the support, and have a great Halloween!
