Well, Happy New Year to all of the readers of this blog–I sincerely hope it is a good one.
For me, however, the name of the game in 2024 is going to be “frugality.” The reasons are not particularly interesting but are likely familiar: loss of income in the family, housing market issues, insurance rates, etc. But until things change (and they will, just not right away) I am going to be keeping things pretty tight around my finances, especially hobby-related.
Which really isn’t a big deal: I have games, I have miniatures, I have a resin printer and enough resin to make miniatures I might need short-term, I have a FDM printer that I can use to make terrain assuming I do not want to do it out of recycled material. I might even have time, the most precious of all resources.
And I am already started, painting up this little fellow from Reaper, “Mr. Bones,” who I assume is some sort of mascot.

For me, though, he looks like an undead halfling who serves some higher power collecting bones from cemeteries or perhaps his master’s dungeon to be used in the creation of new undead. In addition to just being a free-standing threat, he could also be a source of information about the BBEG he serves, if the players handle their business right….
I have other plans, but I am leery about posts that are just about what I want to do, and not what I have done, so I will reveal stuff as it is completed, not before.
Thanks for reading–comments always welcome.
