I can’t quite grasp how I feel about those stats, mostly because aside from the post count, it all feels fairly intangible. Three posts a month isn’t too bad. Looking over the list most of the posts were about miniatures I had painted, which is interesting because a lot of my hobby time was spent doing lots of other kinds of things as well: drawing and illustrating, making notebooks, and most recently getting into doing woodworking again. I will see about adding some photos of that work soon.

I also have not written a lot about my Dungeons & Dragons game that I am running (mostly because several players read the blog). That campaign has been a real source of joy for me this year, full of

Over the next day or so I will be figuring out my painting goal for 2026. It likely won’t be a big change from this year, although I noticed that in 2025 a lot of my miniatures were duplicates, monsters (undead was a common theme), and speed painted. I have been thinking about doing more individual miniatures just to mix it up a bit.

Mostly, I just want to enjoy my hobbies, keep my expectations reasonable, and continue the ancient and forgotten art of blogging.

  1. Happy New Year! My GM often offers experience points if the players do the writeup. He encourages it from their point of view, especially if the reporting is highly biased. It’s pretty funny to read if you know the players and/or what ‘really’ happened. Could be a way to get some game reporting without spilling the beans.
