These little fellows were downloaded from Thingiverse. Why, you ask? Well, I’ve been looking more and more into solo wargaming since so many other venues has been lost to me. Right now there are some really interesting looking but simple ones out there, e.g. Zona Alfa, Hardwired, and Nightwatch (coincidentally all written by the same person). Another is Operation Last Train, a free solo science-fiction wargame with some interesting elements, including resource management.

And since Operation Last Train and others often require a fair number of horde-like beasties, I thought I’d just crank out a bunch of these to use. I was looking for a hive-mind alien that didn’t look like the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise, and these fit the bill. It has been pointed out that they look like “Slowbro” from Pokemon, but I think that’s forgivable.
