This is the first of the releases from the “Desert Adventures” Kickstarter by Iain Lovecraft, and I will admit that this one was the best out of three prints that I did of it. In all fairness, it wasn’t the designer’s fault, but mine, because after I had replaced the thermistor last week the cables apparently were set to get hung up on the back of the printer when it reached a certain height. You can still see the effects at the top of this one, but it was so minor I went ahead a kept it.
So I finally figured it out and wrapped the cables in such a way as it keep it from happening again. (He says hopefully).

That is a beautiful design, and it looks like you’ve done a great job of shading it to bring out the worn look.

I’ve recently gotten a 3d printer and I can appreciate what an annoyance you’ve gone through. The ender 5’s have pretty miserable cable management so I’ve been struggling to find an aesthetically pleasing (but functional) solution. I’m going to have to lengthen the cables I think.
The ‘defect’ in the print actually makes it look like it’s wearing down by desert sand erosion or something. Maybe the top just clears a nearby wall/cliff/whatever.
I think the flaw is forgivable, and like the “eroded” option as well.
