For Father’s Day, I received a copy of Fantasy Mapmaker: How to Draw RPG Cities for Gamers and Fans, which is a nice companion to another book I already owned, How to Draw Fantasy Art and RPG Maps both by Jared Blando. While How to Draw Fantasy Art and RPG Maps focused more on large-scale maps the kind you might see inside the cover leaf of a fantasy novel, Fantasy Mapmaker describes how to do more “Google Earth” style maps that might be used for navigating a gaming group within a smaller area such as a village or city where each individual building is detailed.
This dovetails a bit with my desire to get back into drawing and illustration, especially in support of my D&D campaign. I’ll be posting work as it becomes available, if people are interested.
Thanks for posting about these, I might give them a look.
